I have been practicing as a psychologist since 2007 and have had the privilege of working in major teaching hospitals, private practice and not for profit settings. Along with the more common issues of anxiety and mood, I have particular expertise in working with chronic pain, chronic health conditions, perinatal mental health challenges, trauma and loss. I am deeply passionate about supporting those going through major life transitions/changes, such as becoming a parent/carer for the first time, receiving a new diagnosis, or simply a change in life circumstances.
My approach to therapy is grounded in a holistic person-centered model, evidence based and eclectic. Our work together may include elements of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy, Acceptance Commitment Therapy and mindfulness based approaches. I also have an interest in incorporating the body and somatic based approaches to therapy where appropriate.
Therapy is ultimately a process of learning about ourselves (not just the parts we like!), understanding our inner dialogues, and how we relate to others. It can also be about learning new skills, ways to cope with difficulties, or simply having a safe, non-judgemental space to explore what you are going through.
Together, we can help navigate you to a place of fulfilment and wellness. Reach out for an initial obligation free conversation to get started.
